More than 182,000 tons of products have been exported from the Port of Khorramshahr in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan Province since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), which indicates a 179-percent increase, said Noorollah Asadi, director general of the Khorramshahr Ports and Maritime Administration of Khuzestan Province, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
According to Asadi, 145,000 tons of exported products consist of construction materials.
Asadi added that clinker holds a major place among Iran's exports to Gulf countries.
"Metals, construction materials and agricultural products have been exported to Gulf countries through the Port of Khorramshahr," he said.
According to Asadi, 196,000 tons of cargo have been loaded and unloaded at the Port of Khorramshahr since the beginning of this year, which indicates a 117-percent increase over the same period last year.
The Port of Khorramshahr is one of the most favorable locations for Iran’s exports to Iraq.
