THE wife of missing Dover Gardens man Roger Jacobs has made a heartfelt plea for help in finding him.

Mr Jacob’s wife Sheree, 50, said she was “very worried and concerned” for her husband’s welfare.

She urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

“If any member of the public has seen him, please contact police,” she said.

Mrs Jacobs also had a message for her partner, whom she described as “a nice man and a happy man”.

“Please come home because I miss you so much,” she said.

Mrs Jacobs said her husband “loved going for a walk with Bandit”.

“He usually went out nearly every day if he could, for either a short walk to the shops or a longer one down to Brighton, for example,” she said.

Acting Chief Inspector Joanne Sharman said it was “very unusual” for a person to be missing for so long after such a large search effort.

“We are very concerned about his welfare and it’s a very difficult thing for the family to come to terms that he may not be alive but he may still be alive if he’s taken shelter and he’s had food and water,” she said.

Acting Chief Inspector Sharman said there have been confirmed sightings of Mr Jacobs walking east on Seacombe Rd at Darlington, south on Main South Rd towards the Victoria Hotel and east on Black Rd towards the Flagstaff Rd roundabouts.

The last confirmed sighting of him was when he was heading south on Happy Valley Rd.

All sightings occurred on the day he went missing.

Police have asked residents in the Darlington and Flagstaff Hill areas to check their security cameras for any footage of Mr Jacobs.

He is described as caucasian, 183cm tall, 110kg with dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Mr Jacobs was clean shaven at the time he went missing and was wearing a black jacket, grey jumper, dark blue cargo pants and black Dunlop sneakers.

He shuffles as he walks and may have difficulty communicating.

If anyone sees Mr Jacobs or has information that may help police find him, they are asked to call 131 333 immediately.
