Dubai Chamber-Led Trade Delegation to Visit the Baltic States

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has finalised preparations for a high-profile roadshow it is organising to the Baltic states which will take place May 6th-11th and explore new trade and investment opportunities in the region.

The roadshow, joined by senior Chamber officials and several businessmen representing leading UAE companies, will include visits to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania where delegates will meet with public and private sector stakeholders and learn more about the business environment within the countries.

Delegates will participate in business roundtable discussions during the roadshow, which will focus on business opportunities in several key sectors such as logistics, agri-business, healthcare and ICT, and explore new avenues of cooperation between companies in the UAE and the Baltic states.    

The roadshow will begin in Tallinn, Estonia, where delegates will network with a high-level group of Estonian businessmen from a wide variety of sectors, while they will also make site visits to the e-Estonia showroom, Innovation and Business Centre Mektory, and Muuga Harbour.

The trade delegation will then head to the Latvian capital of Riga for the second leg of the roadshow, where it will meet with Latvian President H.E. Raimonds Vejonis, and visit the Riga IT Demo Center and TFS Trans, a local warehousing company.

The roadshow will conclude with a visit to Vilnius, Lithuania, which will include several meetings with business and government leaders, in addition to site visits to Vilnius Tech Park, Litek - Laser and Engineering Technologies Cluster.

H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber, explained that the roadshow to the Baltic States supports the Chamber’s strategy of exploring promising markets around the world and identifying business prospects for its members and companies in Dubai.

Dubai Chamber’s Chairman noted that the Baltic countries offer tremendous business potential, especially within the areas of logistics, agribusiness, healthcare and ICT, as these sectors have become the driving forces of economic growth in the dynamic region.

“We see this roadshow as a major step in facilitating economic cooperation which has become a key pillar of our strategy of exploring new markets and providing our 217,000 members with access to new business opportunities,” said H.E. Al Ghurair.

The delegation will be led by H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber, and joined by H.E. Hisham Abdullah Al Shirawi, CEO of Oasis Enterprises; H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber; H.E. Essa Al Ghurair, Chairman of Essa Al Ghurair Investments LLC; Mr. Abdullah Sharafi, President of Gerab National Enterprises; Mr. Ismail Akil Abbasi Chairman of Abbasi Group; Adel Zarouni, Managing Director of Rivoli Group LLC; Mr. Ahmad Saeed Belyouha, Chairman of Emirates Macaroni Factory; and Dr. Noah Raford, COO and Chief Futurist at Dubai Future Foundation.
