Harbor Freight Hiring for Boardman Location

BOARDMAN, Ohio — Construction has begun in the build-out of the new Harbor Freight Tools location at 317 Boardman Poland Road, and the company is looking to fill 25 to 30 jobs there.

Positions include sales and logistics supervisors, senior associates, sales associates and seasonal opportunities, according to a company release. Applicants can apply for jobs at HarborFreightJobs.com/retail and search for Boardman, Ohio. There are currently seven job types listed, including retail sales and stocking associates, retail sales and stocking supervisors, and retail sales and stocking managers.

The retail sales and retail stocking associate positions start at $14.75 per hour, according to the website. The retail benefits package includes health coverage with Thanksgiving and Christmas off.

“We’ve been looking to open a location in Boardman for a number of years so that we can provide the tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community,” said Trey Feiler, senior vice president, real estate and construction for Harbor Freight Tools. “In addition to finding a great location, we were attracted by the availability of great associates in the Boardman area, and we look forward to having them join the Harbor Freight team.”

There are also positions open at the company’s Austintown location at 6000 Mahoning Ave.

The company confirmed to The Business Journal in early December that it planned to open a store in the former Toys R Us property.

On Nov. 23, Rhino Holdings Boardman LLC, a Nevada-based developer, closed on the $2 million sale of the property. Bill Kutlick of Platz Realty Group facilitated the sale and said the nearly 47,000-square-foot building will be renovated into two storefronts with new glass doors and signage.

The Boardman store will be the third in the Mahoning Valley, in addition to the Austintown location and Warren location at 1756 North Road SE. Harbor Freight also has a location in New Castle, Pa., at 2567 W. State Street.
