Westmoreland Co. sheriff's deputy charged with bribing female inmates with contraband for sexual favors
A Westmoreland County sheriff's deputy is accused of bribing female inmates with contraband in exchange for sexual favors during transports to and from the county prison.
According to court paperwork, 32-year-old Daniel Gradischek offered to exchange cigarettes for female inmates willing to show their breasts and asked one inmate for sexual favors.
The alleged misconduct happened in various court facilities within the county, court paperwork says.
Gradischek is charged with bribery in official and political matters, institutional sexual assault, indecent assault and faces other related charges.
He was arraigned Thursday morning and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
State police said Thursday it is not known how many inmates were impacted by Gradischek's alleged actions. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
