Three Armenian nationals were detained at the Kazbegi customs checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border after a prohibited cargo was found in the bus.

Armenian embassy in Georgia said a bus bound for Armenia was stopped on the border because of a prohibited cargo.  A preliminary investigation is underway, and the embassy will make an additional statement on further developments.

All passengers are being questioned, the embassy said.

According to Sputnik Georgia agency, the customs officers found cocaine and hashish in the bus.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has launched a criminal case under the article which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
