Magnitude 4.6 quake strikes off the Oregon Coast

COOS BAY, Ore. – Another minor earthquake was recorded off the Oregon Coast.

At about 6:47 a.m. Monday, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck under the Pacific Ocean 130 miles west of Coos Bay.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. It failed to trigger any tsunami watches or warnings.

The earthquake occurred near the Blanco Fracture Zone, which has seen multiple earthquakes this year, including a magnitude 6.3 quake on August 29.
