Zambia’s President Lungu Builds $4 Million Mansion in Swaziland on Land Given to him by King Mswati

The president of Zambia Edgar Lungu is reportedly building a mansion worth millions of dollars in Swaziland on a land which he was given by Swaziland’s King Mswati III.

According to BBC, the mansion is valued at around $4 million.

Zambia’s minister of Information Dora Siliya confirmed the news with Zambian Eye and enlightened that there was nothing sinister going on between the two leaders but only that King Mswati gave the land to President Lungu as a gift and nothing more.

“These are normal practices when the president travels, that various gifts are given in various forms. In this case it was land that was given to the president. This land was processed and given to the president in title,” Siliya said.

However, The Times of Swaziland reported the same issue contrary.

The newspaper said that despite the Zambian government saying the land was a gift, it had seen documents from the Deeds Registry which showed that it was one of around 90 plots owned by Inyatsi Properties Limited, which had acquired it lawfully from Rudolph Investments last year.
